A hardy perennial with large hairy leaves and drooping purple/ pink bell flowers that is usually found growing close to water. It is also known as knit bone or boneset due to its healing abilities. It stimulates cell growth and is used as a poultice for strains and in the past broken bones. The leaves contain minerals and nitrogen and can be rotted down to produce a black liquid that can be diluted down to feed other plants .
