A tall growing hardy biennial with large woolly leaves and spikes of small yellow flowers. It is native to Europe and Asia and found growing on sunny banks, wasteland and road edges. Mullein is an expectorant so good for the respiratory system, toning the mucus membranes, reducing inflammation, stimulating fluid production and so helping get rid of catarrh.
