Munstead is a small growing traditional lavender with beautiful blue/violet flowers that hold their scent well after drying. It is a very good lavender for low hedging. Lavendula is derived from the Latin 'lavare' to wash. It was the favourite bath additive of the Greeks and Romans. The flowers help to calm nerves and induce relaxation and can be used in sleep pillows, the bath, or placed in drawers to scent clothes. Both leaves and flowers can be used in small amounts in cooking or layered into sugar that is then used in baking.
