Folgate is a beautiful blue lavender producing a more lovely oil. Lavendula is derived from Latin 'lavare' to wash. It was the favourite bath additive of the Greeks and Romans. The flowers to calm nerves and induce relaxation and can be used in sleep pillows, the bath, or placed in drawers to scent clothes. Both leaves and flowers can be used in small amounts in cooking or layered into sugar that is then used in baking.
