Flowering period: July-September
The perennial clump forming goldenrod is an easy perennial to grow. It requires little care once established and will provide years of frothy yellow/orange arching flower stems each summer. It dies right back in winter and the old dead stems should be cut back to soil level in the autumn.

Usage

The flowers and leaves of golden rod can be harvested and infused in oil for use on joints and muscles to help relieve aches and pains. A flower infused honey is a traditional medicine for seasonal allergies, sinusitis and for calming irritated mucus membranes.
The flowers are used to make a natural and gentle yellow dye for cloth.
