Ordering over the phone

If ordering online is not for you, it is easy to order by phone by ringing 01799 540695. Sometimes we are all out at shows or the nursery, so please leave a message on the answering machine and we will get back to you. There is also the option to collect your herbs from a show close to you, or the nursery, please ring us for details.

Herb plants

All the herbs are naturally grown in 9x9 cm pots (8cm depth). They begin life as either seeds or cuttings in small plugs and are then potted on into the 9cm pots by hand. They are then left to root into the compost and put on some top growth before they are sent out to you. This means they will be a good size and ready to carry on their life in their new surroundings.

We really want your plants to arrive in the best condition possible. We use blister packs that are made from recycled drinks bottles and which can be recycled again. These hold three herbs tightly in place to stop movement. To help stop soil spillage each pot is topped with a recycled fibre ‘pot topper’ this needs to be removed when you unpack your plants. The blister packs are then packed into cardboard boxes for added protection and wrapped with fragile tape to help prevent them being thrown about in transit.

Packaging herb plants for delivery

Dispatch & delivery times

Herbs are usually dispatched within two to four days of placing your order, but at some points of the year during busy peaks it may take a little longer.

It is important that your herbs spend as little time as possible in their packaging as they have no access to natural light. Although they manage pretty well for up to five days, we send them on a twenty four hour tracked delivery between Mondays and Thursdays – but not Fridays to avoid them being stuck in transit over the weekend.

An email will be sent to you when your herbs are dispatched from our premises.

We deliver our herb plants to addresses across the UK. The majority of our orders are sent via a 24 hour courier service.  Orders sent by courier to Scottish Highlands and Islands, Isle of Wight and Scilly Isles take 48-72hrs - this will be indicated at the checkout.

Orders to businesses and schools are sent with a ‘signature required’ service.
