Named after the Spanish physician Nicolas Monardes and originally known as Oswego tea, it was brought into Europe as collected seed. With its shaggy and aromatic pink heads is a popular garden perennial and looks particularly stunning in a mixed border where it attracts bees and butterflies throughout the summer
