An easy perennial to grow, lovage can be a bit of thug in the garden - it doesn't spread so much as just grow huge getting bigger and taller each year, with this in mind give it enough space. It is happy in sun or shade and a soil that isn't too light and can be grown successfully in containers - make sure it is fed regularly to keep in lush and green.
