  • Pretty garden perennial
  • Aromatic foliage
  • Useful dye plant
  • Attractive lacy leaves

As the flowers from this bushy plant are so long lasting it is worth growing these in the border even if there is no intention of using the plant for dyeing.

This is a definitely a herb for a sunny spot, it doesn't grow as successfully if it has too much shade. It looks especially good in a border, where its sometimes-straggly stems receive some support from other shrubs. It can be grown in a pot, but may need something to help it stay upright when it comes into flower.
